SD Card Corruption and Ways of Recovering Lost Photos

sd card

The market of memory card is expanding tremendously and today you can find variety of memory cards of different capacities. A memory card type that is used largely in digital cameras and mobile phones is SD or Secure Digital card. The large data storage capacity and high data transfer rate makes SD cards an appropriate data storage media in these aforementioned devices.
Initially when you bring a new digital camera or mobile phone, the SD card included in it is not very important to you, but as soon you start using these devices, the card becomes your valuable asset. This is because of the fact that it now contains your precious photos, valuable videos, favorite songs, etc. Therefore, the importance of data stored in SD card makes it an invaluable device. However, have you ever thought that what you will do if this precious asset gets corrupt and hence causes inaccessibility of all the data stored in it?
Corruption of SD card is not a rare phenomenon, instead it occurs many times. Some of the common instances referring to such situations are:
  • Instance 1: Improper Ways of Handling the Card: It is top most reason due to which most of digital camera users encounter corruption in their SD cards. Generally, the interruption in read/write process of SD cards corrupts them. This interruption may occur:
    • When you extract the card from the camera without closing the camera off.
    • When you perform very rapid clicking.
    • When you use single SD card in more than one camera or mobile phones.
    • When you extract the card improperly from the computer while its contents are being used by the system.
    • When you use camera in low battery mode until it dies.
    • When you turn off the camera immediately after clicking a photos.
  • Instance 2: Virus Infection: Generally all of us transfer data between SD cards and our computers. To do this we attach the SD card to computer, and if our computer is contaminated with viruses, then the attached SD card too will be affected. Virus infection corrupts the file system of the memory card and thus causes inaccessibility of all the data stored in it. However, if we have updated anti-virus software, then we can avoid SD card corruption caused due to this reason.
The best way to overcome the loss or inaccessibility of all the stored photos is their backup. Backup enables you to restore all the lost data, but in the unavailability of proper backup, use of professional Mac photo recovery software is recommended.
Professional tools of this category recover all the photos that are lost due to the corruption of memory card. An efficient software supports almost all kinds of memory cards including SD card. The simple user interface of these tools makes them understandable by all the users who have basic understanding of computers. Apart from this, reliable tools are available separately for both Mac and Windows users. To understand the working and user interface of any efficient software, you can download its free demo version. Generally, demo only provides the preview of the software and to save the recovered photos at your system, you have to purchase the license of the tool.
